A little about me…
In my happiest memories, I'm in gardens.
My goal is to share that joy through every garden I create, using sustainable techniques that promote biodiversity.
After a successful career in software development, a series of personal losses made me rethink everything. I just couldn’t see myself spending the rest of my life arguing with computers. My passion for gardening had always been a refuge and I loved helping out friends, from identifying plants & drawing plans, to grabbing a spade and joining the graft.
So I decided to take a leap, starting my Landscape & Garden Design diploma and launching Emily Clare Landscapes. My background makes me really good at figuring out underlying requirements and solving problems creatively, as well as blending technical skills with beautiful designs.
My guiding principles:
Outdoor spaces are a privilege that should never go to waste.
Simple, purposeful designs always thrive better than showy, high-maintenance ones.
I never use astroturf—there’s always a more sustainable (and attractive!) choice.
At the heart of my work is a belief that we are part of nature, not separate from it. That’s why I use pollinator-friendly plants, natural materials, and design with the environment in mind, making sure each garden space thrives with minimal effort by following organic principles.
